Orange Rolls

Sauce:

  • ⅔ cup sugar
  • ¼ cup butter
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 4 Tbsp grated orange rind, optional

Rolls:

  • 2 cups flour
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 3 tsp baking powder
  • ¼ cup margarine
  • ¾ cup milk

Filling:

  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Mix sauce ingredients and simmer for 3 minutes. Pour into a 9x13 inch baking pan.

Sift together flour, salt and baking powder. Cut in margarine. Add milk, mixing lightly. Pat into a ½ inch thick rectangle. Sprinkle filling on dough. Roll up as for jelly roll. Cut into 1 inch slices and arrange in sauce mixture. Bake at 350°F for 40 minutes. Makes 1 dozen rolls. May be doubled.
