  • ½ cup packed brown sugar
  • ½ cup white sugar
  • ½ cup butter, not margarine
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 Tbsp milk
  • 1 cup flour
  • ½ tsp baking soda

  • ½ tsp baking powder

  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 cup raw quick cooking rolled oats
  • ¼ cup chopped nuts
  • ¼ cup raisins
  • ½ cup chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350°F. Cream sugars with butter. Beat in egg, vanilla and milk. Sift together flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt and add to creamed mixture. Beat in oats. Add nuts, raisins and chocolate chips and work in by hand. Drop dough 2 inches apart onto well greased cookie sheet and bake for about 12 minutes. Cookies will be quite soft, but will harden as they cool. Makes about 2 dozen large cookies.
