Bacon and Brewis (Breakfast)

  • 3 cakes of hard bread
  • 2 large onions, chopped

  • 250 g bacon

  • 540 mL can tomatoes

Soak hard bread in water overnight. Drain and crumble. Set aside. Cut bacon into 1 inch long strips and fry until crisp. Remove and set aside. Remove bacon grease and fry chopped onions in same pan. When onions are done to your liking, add hard bread and bacon and mix together, frying over medium heat for 5 minutes. Make a sauce with the stewed tomatoes. Pour tomatoes into a pot and bring to a boil, crushing tomatoes up. Pour over brewis.
